Credentials and Experience
Professional Experience and Adviser Roles
For over twelve years, I have walked alongside our local community members during their most vulnerable, darkest moments, witnessing the profound strength and courage it has taken for them to reach out and receive support.
My journey in Mental Health, Trauma, Suicide Prevention and Postvention has taught me that alongside training and qualifications; the real pivotal point can be connecting with another that has walked a similar path and can offer mutual understanding and deep connection.
During my five years as a Team Leader with The Way Back Service through Beyond Blue, and The Season program; I provided wraparound support to individuals after suicide attempts, helping them navigate the delicate path back to hope and stability, also leading a team of amazing staff to walk alongside those had a suicide attempt.
Within this time, I also lead a program called Wings of Hope, supporting families who have lost loved ones to suicide, offering practical guidance and supports during their darkest hours.
For the last two and half years as a Regional Peer Coordinator, supporting clients facing complex trauma, domestic violence, homelessness, substance use challenges, and suicidal crisis, while leading a dedicated team of peer care companions serving our local community.
Local Community Involvement & Mental Health Advocacy
With a strong passion for mental health advocacy and suicide prevention, I have been actively involved in a range of impactful initiatives:
Better off with you Campaign - Lending my voice to the contribute to the -Better Off With You Campaign. Drawing on the power of peer-to-peer storytelling – sharing the experiences of individuals who have had suicidal thoughts and survived suicide attempts, to reach people in the community who are contemplating suicide. As many as 500,000 Australians have attempted suicide at some point in their lives and sharing their experiences can help others who are feeling suicidal. The campaign seeks to challenge the perceptions of those who are contemplating suicide that they are a burden on their family, friends and other people.
Safe Space Mowana – Played a key role in setting up our local Safe Space, working closely as the president with the other voluntary community steering group members to guide, connect, and support our and peers and community members in preventing suicide and reducing emotional distress.
Avalon Youth Hub (2022–Present) – Steering Committee Member, contributing to the strategic direction and support services offered to our local youth on the beaches.
Out of the Shadows Walk – Provided compassionate support and vital information to community members grieving the loss of loved ones to suicide.
Lifeline Northern Beaches – Lived Experience Advisor, Program Committee Member and Lived Experienced Co Facilitator for Lifeline NB Support Groups (Current 2025)
Mental Health Month Events (5+ Years) – Active working group member in collaboration with Northern Beaches Council, and partner organisations to create inclusive and meaningful community events.
Local Suicide Prevention Campaigns – Shared my lived experience to shape and support awareness campaigns that resonate deeply with those affected.
A Holistic Approach to Wellness
Through my professional experience, I've witnessed how traditional therapeutic approaches, while essential, sometimes need the gentle complement of contemplative practices. Meditation isn't just about finding calm—it's about developing the inner resources to meet life's challenges with resilience, clarity, and self-compassion.
My approach integrates meditation with healing practices, breathwork, and counselling support, creating a comprehensive pathway to wellness. I understand that for many, sitting quietly with their thoughts can feel overwhelming or even triggering. That's why I offer a trauma-informed, person Centered, holistic approach that honors where you are right now, while gently guiding you toward the peace and stability.
Drawing from my deep well of experience supporting people through crisis and recovery, I combine mindful meditation techniques with therapeutic breathwork practices that help regulate the nervous system and release stored trauma. This integration of contemplative and somatic healing approaches, alongside compassionate counselling support, creates a safe container for transformation and growth.
Your Journey Toward Transformation
Whether you're seeking relief from anxiety, better sleep, improved focus, or simply a daily anchor of calm and support, I'm here to support you in developing a practice that feels sustainable, nurturing, and uniquely yours. Together, we'll explore techniques that not only bring immediate relief but create lasting changes in how you relate to stress, trauma, and the inevitable challenges of life.
